Marianne Chargois is a sex-trade worker, performer and an active member of STRASS (sex trade union). Her works, writings and performances connect real personal experiences and artistic research with feminist and political analyses based around the sex industry. In addition to her activities as a dominatrix, she appears on stage in contemporary dance, created the Explicit Festival with Matthieu Hocquemiller, “Expressions Plurielles du Sexuel” Montpellier CDN (National Centre of Dramatic Art), the dissident sexuality queer festival WHAT THE FUCK? FEST***! with floZif (Electric Circus, Paris) and is currently working on the first edition of SNAP! the first edition of a Parisian sex-worker fest. In 2018, she directed her first documentary, EMPOWER – Perspectives of a Sex-Worker.
