After a brief period studying at Sciences Po Paris, Noémie Makota decided to consecrate herself to dramatic art and enrolled at the “conservatoire à rayonnement départemental” in Poitiers, before enrolling in « Performing Arts » at the University of Poitiers. Discovering contact dance in the choreographic research workshop led by Isabelle Lamothe at the University of Poitiers, was a turning point in her way of seeing the human body, which for her became a tool for perceiving and reading the world. In 2016, she participated in the creation of the production Forehead Against Forehead by Gaëlle Bourges for the « À Corps » Festival in Poitiers. This work asks personal, artistic and political questions about the human body and the way it is represented. From then on, Noémie Makota began to show a keen interest in theatrical anthropology and spent two years at the Ecole du jeu (Paris). She was hired for the performance Grief and Poppies by Juliet Butot. The project became a fertile ground for exploring the construction of incarnate inhabited, animal physicality, as a source of private expression and metamorphosis. Lately, she has been venturing into work on the spoken word and singing, thanks to an encounter with Jean-Yves Pénafiel and the music world.  In addition to this, Noémie is completing her degree in cinematography at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
