Carisa Bledsoe is originally from Memphis, Tennessee, USA, and currently lives and works in Lyon, France. Her creative practice focuses on bodywork and visual expression, and is inspired by Tantric thought and Buddhist philosophies. Often manifested through dance, textures, words, sounds, moving images and drawings, Carisa's research considers the field of somatics as a stimulus for artistic creation and, more specifically, as a means of understanding family lineage and ritual practices in relation to ancestry and well-being. Carisa holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interarts Performance (interdisciplinary artistic practice) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (U.S.A.), a Master in Choreology (Benesh Movement Notation) from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, a Level 2 diploma in Shyuyou Shiatsu from Atelier Shiatsu in Paris; and received her yoga teacher certification from the World Peace Yoga School in India.
