Pedro Hermelin Vélez is a French-Colombian puppeteer. After two years of preparatory literary studies, he discovered puppetry during a masterclass with Yngvild Aspeli at the École Jacques Lecoq. He then trained in this practice at the Conservatoire de Clamart the following year. He then joined the 13th class (2021-2024) of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts de la Marionnette (ESNAM).

During his studies, he became interested in the question of abjection, particularly the relationship between bodies and food, and edible puppets.
For his third-year solo project at ESNAM, Fear of falling (failing), he drew on his fear of falling and his experience skateboarding.

He discovers the work of the association Os with Juste Camille, a show by Gaëlle Bourges in which he performs with seven other classmates from his year. After graduating, he worked as a puppeteer under the direction of Yngvild Aspeli for the show Trust me for a while, as part of the Passe-Murailles #3 program at the CDN in Dijon. He performed again for Gaëlle Bourges in Guillaume & Harold, a performance created as part of the Collection tout-terrain program of the National Choreographic Center of Caen in Normandy, at the invitation of Alban Richard.
