Agnès Butet is a multidisciplinary choreographer who explores the links between dance, performance and transmission. She works mainly in the field of contemporary dance and somatic methods. She is also a regular practitioner of Wudang Qi Gong, Argentine tango and other ballroom dances.

She explores perceptual phenomena and is keenly interested in the body as a relational issue and a subject for thought. Her liminal performances question stereotypes, social injunctions and societal upheavals.

She often collaborates with other artists, including regularly with Bernard Tran (multimedia artist) and choreographer Gaëlle Bourges—she is notably a performer in To my only desire, 59, Conjurer la peur, Ce que tu vois, OVTR (ON VA TOUT RENDRE), and AUSTERLITZ ; she also performs in Une salle où se rafraîchir (Cluny Museum) and La salle des fêtes (Palais de la Porte Dorée); and is assistant on Juste Camille, La petite soldate, Guillaume & Harold,MONTREUIL ...

Deeply committed to passing on her knowledge, she leads or participates in numerous artistic and cultural projects for all audiences. She advocates a pluralistic and cross-disciplinary approach to dance, developing a teaching method that emphasizes the role of the group.

With a degree in "Performing Arts - Dance" (Paris 8, 2001), she also holds a Diplôme d'État d'enseignement de la danse contemporaine (Rencontres Internationales de Danse Contemporaine, 1994) and a Diplôme Universitaire "Techniques du corps et monde du soin" (Paris 8, 2012).
