Colo Lascaux

Inspired by the incredible discovery of the Lascaux cave, Gaëlle Bourges created a show,Revoir Lascaux (2017), which questions our view of prehistoric art and its legacy. As part of her Artist Residency at the Théâtre Public de Montreuil, Gaëlle invited a group of young people to take on this play and deliver their own version of it.

In 1940, four teenagers stumbled upon a prehistoric cave in the heart of the Périgord region. Through a theatrical production combining dance, storytelling, and projected images, the performers immerse the audience in the depths of the famous decorated cave and bring to life the animal figures painted 23,000 years ago.

Under the guidance of the show's four creators, a group of young people from Montreuil will present their adaptation ofRevoir Lascaux at the end of a week-long residency at the TPM, punctuated by various workshops—a sort of art camp—called La Colo Lascaux!
