Seeing Lascaux again

Seeing Lascaux again presents the four discoverers of the famous cave, aged between 13 and 18 at the time of their expedition in September 1940. But the cave here is not a faithful reconstruction, as can be seen today at the Centre International d'Art pariétal in Montignac, Périgord: it's made of wool panels and stacked cardboard boxes. The lamps that light up the underground night are cell phones, and the bestiary is made up of small plastic animals. It's enough to recreate an imaginary prehistory, complete with image makers and deer-headed dancers, but with a certain appetite for knowledge.
