Replace

On the occasion of the creation of the show for all audiences LAURA’ s Gang by choreographer Gaëlle Bourges, the association Os proposed a series of workshops between women housed at the Emmaüs CHRS in Épinay-sur-Orge and CM1/CM2 children from the Jean Perrin school in Grigny, on the issue of the representation of women and racialized people in Western painting.

The project was conceived as a journey through art history, combining visits to the Musée d'Orsay, critical reflection, art workshops, dance workshops, and the invention of a form in which adults and children could "replay" – or revisit in their imaginations and representations, to conclude their encounter—the issues they explored together. Various moments of the project were filmed by director Claire Ananos, resulting in the documentary film replace.

Chatô

After the movies  Fables misapiand Ruins / or How to Make the Invisible Visible following the unicorn, Gaëlle Bourges, Julie Vuoso, and Claire Ananos complete their field research in the town of Château-Thierry with a third opus, Chatô.

For this new film, Gaëlle Bourges focused on the links between Castrothéodoricien.ne.s and the remains of the town's medieval castle. The film crew sought to bring together the different relationships to the history of this ancient building, through encounters on and around the site - with the person in charge of maintaining the park, the falconers in the eagle show, a musician whose house overlooks the castle's parapet walk, two archaeologists, etc. - and to find out more about the castrothéodoricien.ne.s' relationship to the remains of the medieval castle.

The jigsaw of encounters on the hilltop is Claire Ananos' 3rd film.

RUINS / or how to make the invisible visible by following the unicorn

After the movie Fables misapi, about the relationship between the inhabitants of Château-Thierry and Jean de La Fontaine, a native of the town, Gaëlle Bourges relaunched a field study based on the Gallo-Roman remains discovered at Les Vaucrises, on the heights of the town. Walking with Marjolaine Jouannetaud, an archaeologist in Château-Thierry, the team interviewed people they met at random during their travels about the connection they have, or don't have, with past civilizations. The result of these encounters is thesecond film directed by Claire Ananos: Ruins / or how to make the invisible visible by following the unicorn.

Misapi fables

The film Fables misapi deals with the relationship between the inhabitants of Château-Thierry and a17th-centuryman, Jean de la Fontaine, a native of the town—today, even the roundabouts illustrate his famous animal stories.
What remains of these fables in the town, apart from the roundabouts? The question provided a good opportunity to talk to people encountered in the market square, in the street, and in the parks: impromptu discussions in front of the camera, where a range of issues gradually emerged—from air pollution to migration, from the difficulty of finding one's place to racism, from the fear of seeing "everything" change to the endemic scarcity of prospects for a good life.
